Seth Thomas "Chime No. 11" Westminster Sonora Chime Mantel Clock

Offered for your consideration is this antique

Seth Thomas "Chime No. 11" Chiming Tambour Mantel Clock

This ribbon mahagony, doric arch case houses a Seth Thomas dual movement, 5-bell Sonora Chime Mechanism.   It plays the Westminster Chime Melody on four tuned cup bells and strikes the hour on a large, deep-toned bell which provides its own very distinct sound.  There's nothing quite like the beautifully resonating sound of a Sonora Chime Clock and we think this is a very fine example.

Both movements were properly disassembled, cleaned and overhauled.  Bushed where required.  The pivots were lathe polished and burnished.  The mainsprings were hand cleaned and inspected.  The movements were reassembled and lubricated using quality synthetic clock oil and grease.

The case was cleaned inside and out.  It was given a French Polish top coat with several additional coats of paste wax

The clock pretty really speaks for itself. Please look at the photos and embedded video as they form an important part of the listing.

This Chime No. 11 has been serviced and thoroughly tested.  Everything works as it should.  It is in excellent condition and is ready for a new owner to enjoy for many years to come.

Every aspect and function of this clock's case and movement have been successfully serviced, restored, repaired and tested!

Shipping and Handling:

Shipping and Insurance is at the Buyer's Expense

We recommend UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail or USPS Parcel Post if the Buyer requests it, but Parcel Post is not recommended.  Of course, it will be up the Buyer.

Local Pick-up is also a welcome option!

We'll do everything we can to insure that this clock reaches its new owner in the same condition it is listed in.  We are not responsible for shipping damage.  That is what shipping insurance is for.  We will carefully document all shipping precautions.  If there is shipping damage we will help the buyer file an insurance claim in a timely manner.  Shipping damage should be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

We stand behind what we sell!  This is an antique clock.  It has probably changed owners several times and it is not perfect "like new" condition.  It keeps very good mechanical time, but it can not provide the accuracy of modern quartz timepieces. We will provide the new owner with a one-year waranty on our work. See Our Guarantee for details.

Antique clocks usually have a long history with numerous owners and maintenance.  We have strived to provide complete and accurate information on this clock in our listing with a full disclosure of all known flaws so that you'll know exactly what you would have should you decide to purchase our clock.  We think this is an excellent example of the Seth Thomas "Chime No. 11".

A full set of written set-up instructions will be included with the clock along with a small bubble-level, an accurately sized, Seth Thomas doubled-ended winding key and an appropriate Seth Thomas Pendulum Bob.  The new owner will have direct contact information and will be able to call or e-mail us for help in set up.  If the clock is knocked out of adjustment during shipping, the owner may need some professional help to get it set-up and running or to determine if there has been hidden shipping damage.

If you are not happy with the clock, you'll have two full weeks to return it for a refund of your purchase price. Shipping charges are not included unless you find that the clock is not as described, we'll even reimburse you for your return shipping/insurance charges.  For a refund, the clock must be returned in the same condition it was originally shipped.  We can not issue a refund if the Buyer has abused or damaged the clock.)

Please read over the entire listing, look carefully at the photos and the video and let us know if you have any questions or want any additional information before you place your bid(s).  We  will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

If you decide to buy this clock, or to submit a serious offer to us, please do so with confidence.  This is a beautiful Seth Thomas with a lovely melodic Westminster chime.  It will serve as a wonderful addition to your home, clock collection or as a stunning gift for a person who appreciates these types of clocks or antiques in general.

Thank you for your time and consideration!
